Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Slink Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your information when you use the JAMB Pro mobile application (the “App”). By using the App you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide:
- Profile details — your first and (optionally) last name, and an optional profile photo you choose from your device.
- Feedback & reports — messages, bug reports and question-problem reports you send us, including an email address only if you choose to provide one.
- Friend connections — friend requests you send or accept, and reports you make about other users.
Information collected automatically:
- Anonymous account identifier — when you use the App we create an anonymous account (via Google Firebase Authentication). We do not require an email or password to sign in.
- Study activity — your practice progress and statistics, such as questions answered, accuracy, streaks and per-subject performance.
- A shareable friend code generated for your account so others can add you.
- Notification token — if you enable notifications, a push token so we can deliver friend and study notifications.
- Basic technical info — app version and device platform, included with reports/feedback to help us fix issues.
- Advertising identifier and install/app events — if we advertise JAMB Pro on TikTok, the TikTok Business SDK reports a small number of events (app installed, app opened, onboarding finished, a subject downloaded, a practice session completed) together with your device's advertising identifier, so that TikTok can tell which adverts brought students to the App. On iOS this identifier is only used if you allow it when the App asks for tracking permission; if you decline, attribution still works in aggregate but without identifying your device. See section 5.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or payment information. The App shows no adverts inside it and we do not sell your personal information.
2. How we use your information
- Provide and operate the App and sync your progress across your devices.
- Power social features — friends, friend requests, and comparing study stats.
- Send notifications you have enabled (study reminders, streaks, friend activity).
- Respond to your feedback and fix reported problems with questions or the App.
- Keep the App safe — reviewing user reports and enforcing our Terms.
3. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on your device and on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and Cloud Functions), which we use as our backend. Notifications are delivered through the Expo push service. These providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- With other users you connect with — your name, profile photo, friend code and study statistics (such as accuracy and streak) are visible to people you are friends with. This is the purpose of the social features.
- With service providers (Google Firebase, Expo) who process data on our behalf to run the App.
- With TikTok — the advertising identifier and app events described in section 1, used only to measure advertising. See section 5.
- For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the App.
5. Advertising measurement
We sometimes run adverts for JAMB Pro on TikTok. To know which adverts actually bring students to the App, it includes the TikTok Business SDK, which reports installs and a few key moments (opening the App, finishing onboarding, downloading a subject, completing a practice session) to TikTok, along with your device's advertising identifier.
This is measurement only. The App shows no adverts, we do not use this data to build a profile of you, and we never send TikTok your name, photo, email, friend connections or your answers to questions.
You are in control:
- On iOS, the App asks for permission before your advertising identifier is used. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, it is not used, and the App behaves exactly the same. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.
TikTok processes this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.
6. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile — change or remove your name and profile photo at any time in the App.
- Manage notifications — turn notification types on or off in Settings.
- Block and report — block other users or report inappropriate names, photos or behaviour from a user’s profile.
- Delete your account and data — use Settings → Delete account & data to permanently delete your profile, friends and progress from this device and from our servers. This cannot be undone.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your associated profile, social connections and progress data from our servers.
8. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for students preparing for JAMB UTME. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are below the age of majority in your country, please use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including the security controls provided by Google Firebase, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
11. Contact us
